Love this pum but...  
I love this pump- it works great is powerful and quiet enough for me to talk on the phone while pumping with no one knowing that is what I am doing. HOWEVER it started to crack when the motor/base meets the bottle holders. I dont know quite how to describe except that the cracks outline the bottle holders in the shape of a half circle. I returned the first to Ameda and they over nighted an replacement pump and it cracked AGAIN. They are replacing yet another one which is great but I am worried that it will happen again. : 2010-09-15 08:54:06

Great Pump!  
I did a lot of research before buying and ended up with this one over the similar Medela pump. This is less expensive than Medela and seems superior. There are completely dialable settings for both speed and suction. I tend to be a bit abusive to my electronics and this has stood up now to 5+ months of abuse with no issues. The price on amazon is better than I could find at a local store. Note most stores do not carry this pump only specialty boutiques that specialize in lactation consulting. I am a little concerned with how easy it will be to get replacement parts if I break anything but I have not had to worry about that yet. I was able to get a $5 rebate through Enfamil in a free bag they gave me at the hospital so if you get one of those bags and buy any pump be sure to look for that.

I have not needed the different sized flanges and find the carrying bag is way bigger than you need. The set comes with car adapter AC adapter and the pump can also use batteries. I hav : 2010-09-15 08:54:06

Great Pump  
This is the only pump Ive tried but it has worked great for me and Ive been using it for 5 months so far. The pump is plenty powerful enough that I can express plenty of milk for my baby while I am at work. I really liked the idea of this pump because of the closed system which means you dont have to wash the tubing because it does not ever have any condensation. I was afraid of using the Medela because of the fact that is an open system and they say you can spread diseases if you share between people. I dont plan on sharing my pump but if I were to get sick would I have to be afraid I contaminated the pump? The Ameda pump is a closed system so this is not a risk. Also the Ameda pump is much less expensive than the Medela which I cannot figure out why.

I have not used this pump with the batteries or the car adapter although I like having those options just in case I am ever stuck somewhere without my baby.

Good but loud!  
This pump is the only one I have ever used. I use the Simple Wishes Hands Free Bustier Simple Wishes Hands-Free Breast Pump Bra and have no problems. This kit comes with three different nipple shield size so its easier to find a fit. Mine even came with an extra parts set.

The main issue I had with this is that it is loud! Two others have said they could talk on the phone with it but not mine. It makes a beeping sound during suction which is pretty noticeable. I pump at work (we have a designated lactation room with curtains). I never realized exactly how loud the Ameda was until someone in the next stall over started pumping as well and between the two of our Ameda pumps we made quite a racket. It seems especially loud next to the Medela Symphony (hospital grade)Medela Symphony Breast Pump which is also available for use at my work. The hospital-grade Symphony is truly almost silent (I wonder if the travel version is also this way?). So basically if you are using this pu : 2010-09-15 08:54:06

Ameda Purely Yours Ultra  
I loved this pump! After I got out of the hospital I rented the medela symphony for 2 weeks to "establish" my supply and then started using the ameda purely yours. Its wonderful and after experiencing the much talked about medela tubing condensation problem (kinda gross) with the symphony I was pleased to find that the ameda pumps have a different type of system so nothing can get into he tubing! Wonderful! Easy to clean and a powerful pump! :D I like the tote bag and cooler system that came with it as well! Convient~Very happy with my pump. I couldnt understand any negative review about this pump regarding power performance or cleaning. Well worth the money : 2010-09-15 08:54:06
